Informian - The Information Nation is a science and technology news and review blog designed with the self learners in mind. Those who have an insatiable appetite for information are Informians. We are the people who read course books for recreation. The people who want to know how everything around us works. The people who own an etymological dictionary and care about what the hell that is. The people who had to know why Pluto was no longer a planet. We are neurotic, sometimes weirdly obsessive, not necessarily well educated or intelligent but consider learning a sport, something we want to be good at. Informians live in the world of information, not only believing that “knowledge is power” but believing that “life is about knowing”. They are just very curious people with an obsessive tendency toward self teaching (autodidactism).

Informians are drawn to science and technology of all sorts. These fields offer a seemingly endless well of study since they move forward so quickly no person can consume it all, this is the challenge for Informians. How much can you learn? How quickly can you do it? How deeply can one person understand any one thing? These are the questions that Informians ask themselves. The stories, recommendations and other works available on this site are not all necessarily focused on the sciences or technology but more on the Informians that create and use information.
